Patients may complain of dull ache pain, difficult to comb the hair, sometimes arm weakness may be present.

What is adhesive capsulitis?
Adhesive capsulitis also called frozen shoulder is a chronic shoulder condition wherein the capsule around the shoulder joint thickens which prevents the movement of shoulder joint. This may happen due to trauma to shoulder muscles like rotator cuff injury, broken arm, post-stroke, recovering from surgery. Patient will complain of pain on shoulder movements with restricted mobility.
What are the treatment modalities available?
Painkillers usually helps to reduce the pain and inflammation around the joint but has limited utility, physical exercises to increase the range of motion but is usually painful. Surgery to remove the scar tissue and adhesions can be done. Injection of numbing medications into the joint will lead to numbness of joint which in help in active and passive movements of the joint pain-free.
