These kind of pain usually occur in young males who have just started with sexual activity, those with history of trauma in that part, and in those patients not having meaningful relationships. These pain occurs due to changes occurring in brain and in the genitals , all of these leading to perception of pain. Anti-neuropathic drugs, pain killers, nerve blocks , groin blocks, psychological counseling are important treatment modalities.<\/p>\n<h3>Pelvic pain in females:<\/h3>\n<p>Females with chronic pelvic pain often have difficulties in explaining the pain site and type due to social factors and psychological issues. Pain in perineum may be associated with depression, anxiety, poor health. These kind of pain may or may not be associated with gynecological causes. Treating pain without any gynecological cause is difficult to understand, diagnose and treat. It requires proper examination and investigations, appropriate medicines and doing proper exercises along with multiple sittings of follow up along with psychological counseling. Application of local anesthesia cream in the site ,oestrogen creams, trigger point injections, pelvic floor exercise, ultrasonographic and stimulation therapy, botox injections are the treatment modalities available depending on the type and severity of the pain.<\/p>\n<h3>Coccygodynia:<\/h3>\n<p>It is a painful condition of tail bone with tender point present in the tail bone and pain in buttocks. This pain usually seen following trauma to the tail bone, sitting on rough surface for long hours, sudden weight loss leading to disappearance of buttock fat. Patients find it difficult in sitting for long hours. Treatment for coccygodynia involves pain killers, non surgical intervention like triple maneuvers which includes trigger point injection , coccyx massage, caudal epidural injection.
